Earth Hour 2011

Created in Cinema 4D, After Effects and Photoshop.

Check out my latest 3DOcean upload, its a set of 4 steampunk style gauges modeled in Cinema 4D.
Each gauge has an xpresso tag to give them an automatic animation without the need for keyframing and can be changed through the user data field on the gauge.

Each gauge comes with its own faceplate in PSD format so you can add whatever you want onto the faceplate.
Perfect for background decor or as a center piece in an animation or still image and renders quickly!

My newest Videohive upload is a motion background I created in C4D for use in After Effects or Editing applications. It can be used as a background for slideshows or video content. So check it out and let me know what you think!

Just a couple more triangle pieces I thought I would share.

Same settings from the last post but this time just 1 triangle and no Magic Bullet Looks.

Messing around in C4D playing with some of the different post render effects.

For this render I used: A glow on the material, Object Glow and Highlights.

The highlights effect creates the streaking effect you can see coming from the triangle in the far right of the shot. I then touched it up with some Magic Bullet Looks in Photoshop.

Lately I have been getting into modelling in Cinema 4D a lot more. Since I am just learning how to model I figured the best way to learn was to start with simple objects and work my way up to bigger and more difficult objects.

The easiest way to model simple objects is to get a high res photo of the object from multiple angles and load them into the viewport backgrounds. This way you can essentially trace the object out by adding points or using splines.

To do this you go to Edit in your viewport then click Config. Under the background tab load your image into the image slot. Now start tracing!

For this light bulb I traced around the outside with a spline, I then made it editable and made selections where I wanted the different textures to be. It was pretty simple, but what really makes it great is the texturing and lighting.
